On May 20th – 22nd we united with the Cubs and Beavers at Ferny Croft (New Forest) for a weekend summer camp.
This year, we enjoyed a vast range of different activities which explore new areas of outdoor adventuring.
We also decided to include some new activities, which explore some more traditional and fundamental cooking and survival skills.
On the camp menu we feasted on rabbit stew and while we were out in the forest we found our own food with a foraging expert, Joe.
On the final day we ventured on a 13km bike ride around the local area. We cycled through the woods, over railway lines and discovered a geocache along the way. An incredible day, and a tiring one too!
Our Scouts along with Nick and Luke ventured to Ferny Croft (New Forest) in early March for 2 nights and 2 action-packed days. Although the bus ferry caused us some issues on the Friday we managed to negotiate a lift back for the troop. A big thank you goes to Chris Thompson for all the help he gave us over the weekend.
The boys spent the days cramming many of the camps activities, including Rock Climbing, go- carting & laser quest. There were huge profits for the tuck shop, and a good test for our tents.
We were saved having to cook our own food, but will be busy developing our camp cooking skills for our next camp in May.
After our lunch on Sunday we helped out by cleaning up the whole dining quarters after breakfast! Go 2nd!!!
