Our Scouts and Cubs (with some extra help from the 11th group) gave McDonalds a helping hand to keep the streets of Shirley free of rubbish. It was actually rather fun using the picker tools and it was surprising how much litter is carelessly thrown on the ground. After a hot afternoon in the sun, filling up 10 sacks of trash, our free ice creams afterwards tasted even better than we expected.
Being helpful through volunteering is at the heart of what we do and has always been part of our Scout Law. Well done to everyone who took part and making a positive impact in the community.
